RELIGARE is a premier financial institution spread across the globe. The challenge was to create a platform with a huge database as financial information gathers from across the globe very dynamically.
In order to address the problem of huge data New Mek Solutions built Data Cubes using SQL Server Analysis Services and helped in accessing the output in multiple formats. Data was staged before being transformed into the dimensional model. Data Transformation layer converts staging data and load into Dimensional model. In the Dimensional model, the data was stored in Star Schema after enrichment & transformation. The Star Schema would comprise of Product, Market, Period and Fact tables. Data will be stored in the SQL Server database. Based on some characteristics (multi level hierarchy's, MOLAP cubes...) the data cubes were built. The output was served through sharepoint portal.
